We Shall All Be Healed

this has been an okay week. emotionally draining at some points, but good for the most part.

my eye got steadily worse as the week went along, although it's better today. the doctor at the health center said it was from strenuous physical activity (it's not what you would normally expect -- and I'm not going to talk about it here. and NO, IT'S NOT SEXUAL, YOU PERVERTS.) either way, it popped a blood vessel, and that's why my eye looks so bad.

on thursday I went down to Grant street off of campus and attended a hardcore/metal show with such bands as Hopesfall, Alexisonfire, Moneen, and A Thorn For Every Heart. It was really awesome. I couldn't go into the pit cause doctor said no major physical activity, and im pretty sure that counted as physical. I did really enjoy Hopesfall (from north carolina) though, they were amazing. i got their cd, and they have a new one coming out in november.

friday i went to the freaking mall via shuttlebus funded by BSC with a whole bunch of people, and I went to this store which sells university clothing for $8 or less. I got a Buffalo State hoodie for 8 bucks, haha. take that college bookstore. 40 bucks my ass.

i still miss people from back home, including family, friends, and others. I miss my poker nights with sam and james -- I miss just chatting with my parents about whatever. hell, I miss the freaking cat.

which is not to say things aren't going well here, it's just an awkward moment. but what's good is that I get to see my dad next weekend for homecoming weekend. we're gonna do some stuff and im excited about it.

today, i REALLY need to do homework. like, mostly my english paper. it's due monday, should be 3 pages, and i have 2 paragraphs. and it's kind of difficult, which you don't hear from me very often regarding english.

i also need to do laundry today, and clean my desk, and find more plans than i did last night. I also need to read my book of pslams more -- you wouldn't believe how many inspiring verses there are in that thing.

I'm Kevin. I attend Buffalo State College in The Empire State. I'm your normal teenager who's secure enough in his masculinity to do things some people may find a little odd. My turn-ons include long walks on the beach, poetry, and percussion.

I enjoy the music stylings of (but NEVER limited to) Morrissey, Coheed and Cambria, The Marleys (bob to ziggy), The Heptones, The Toasters, Pietasters, Queen, Luciano, Junior Murvin, NOFX, Mountain Goats, Rufus Wainwright, Death by Stereo, Passion Worship Band, Switchfoot, Five Iron Frenzy, The Darkness, CSNY, Virginia Coalition, Alexisonfire, Hopesfall, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, MF Doom, RJD2, Kool Keith, Aesop Rock, DJ Shadow, King Geedorah, Why?, Bright Eyes, Wilco, Tom Waits, Talib Kweli, Neva Dinova, Beastie Boys, and even Jay-Z.

I enjoy reading The Bible, Dan Brown, CS Lewis, John Steinbeck (favorite author), Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and Eugene Peterson.

I'm an avid poet (not so much anymore) and reader of poetry. My favorite poets are Stanley Kunitz, Alan Ginsberg, Tuli Kupferberg, Bret Hubinger (AACC Professor!), Walt Whitman, and Edward Thomas.
