End of year survey that fellow bloggers and even emo LJers are doing. A non-survey type will follow whenever, as will my best music of 2004. (best meaning kev's favorite)

What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? -- Entered a casino, and drank liqour.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? -- If I made any, I don't remember them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? -- TWO people.

4. Did anyone close to you die? -- Not this year, they all went in 2000-2002.

5. What countries did you visit? -- Canada, eh.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? -- Spontaneity.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? -- August 27th, when I left my old life behind. It took me a while to realize that.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? -- Getting accepted into almost every college I applied to. Fuck you, UMBC.

9. What was your biggest failure? -- One I'd rather not speak of, as this is not a private blog.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? -- A lot more colds than I've gotten in previous year. Missed a possible big injury in November by seconds.

11. What was the best thing you bought? -- A laptop computer.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? -- My parents.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? -- I wouldn't say appalled, because I kind of already knew in the back of my head.

14. Where did most of your money go? -- Poker and food.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? -- Going home for Thanksgiving, and my big going-away poker game/par-tay with friends that I won, hah.

16. What songs will always remind you of 2004? -- Morrissey - First of the Gang to Die

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder? -- Sadder is a horrible excuse for an adjective, so we'll say I'm more dejected.

ii. thinner or fatter? -- I don't think I can GET any thinner, but pumping those guns haven't done me much good.
iii. richer or poorer? -- POORER. Started off with over $2000, ending with about $1000. WTF? Oh yeah. . .

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? -- Read my Bible.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? -- Disregard friends, spend time alone.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? -- With the family, saw Ocean's 12.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004? -- Out of love is more accurate.

23. How many one night stands? -- 0

24. What were your favourite TV programs? -- The only one I watched; Family Guy

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? -- Nah.

26. What was the best book you read? -- Clive Staples Lewis' Mere Christianity.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? -- So many. I'd have to say either MF Doom or Alexisonfire. Probably Alexisonfire.

28. What did you want and get? -- A second chance.

29. What did you want and not get? -- Honesty, from multiple persons.

30. What was your favourite film of this year? -- Either Ocean's 12 or Saw.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? -- I don't even remember. Went out to dinner with mom and dad, I think.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? -- Not having to lapse into mild states of depression every now and then in college.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? -- Fucking good, that's what I say. Leather jackets, nice jeans, and a pair of $150 boots (that's where the money went!) to keep me styling all the way into college.

34. What kept you sane? -- Heather and working at the library. Familiarity and routine you can ENJOY provide comfort.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? -- OUT of the spotlight? Billy Graham. IN the spotlight? Howard Dean! It's a shame he was labled an ultra-liberal.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? -- The duration of the election year made me want to cry, so I'd probably say the Iraq war in general. Way to go, Bush.

37. Who did you miss? -- Missed Sarah over the summer, as she was in Delaware for the duration.

38. Who was the best new person you met? -- On the male side, probably either James or Lucas. Two very bright individuals who are awesome to hang around. On the female side, definitely Niko. I've met a lot of good-hearted/strange/fun people, but Niko is easily one of the best friends I now have in Buffalo.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004. -- Everything goes to hell if you give it enough time and not enough attention.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. -- There is none.

I'm Kevin. I attend Buffalo State College in The Empire State. I'm your normal teenager who's secure enough in his masculinity to do things some people may find a little odd. My turn-ons include long walks on the beach, poetry, and percussion.

I enjoy the music stylings of (but NEVER limited to) Morrissey, Coheed and Cambria, The Marleys (bob to ziggy), The Heptones, The Toasters, Pietasters, Queen, Luciano, Junior Murvin, NOFX, Mountain Goats, Rufus Wainwright, Death by Stereo, Passion Worship Band, Switchfoot, Five Iron Frenzy, The Darkness, CSNY, Virginia Coalition, Alexisonfire, Hopesfall, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, MF Doom, RJD2, Kool Keith, Aesop Rock, DJ Shadow, King Geedorah, Why?, Bright Eyes, Wilco, Tom Waits, Talib Kweli, Neva Dinova, Beastie Boys, and even Jay-Z.

I enjoy reading The Bible, Dan Brown, CS Lewis, John Steinbeck (favorite author), Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and Eugene Peterson.

I'm an avid poet (not so much anymore) and reader of poetry. My favorite poets are Stanley Kunitz, Alan Ginsberg, Tuli Kupferberg, Bret Hubinger (AACC Professor!), Walt Whitman, and Edward Thomas.
