I've been listening to the new Morrissey album all afternoon. So far there hasn't been a song that's caused me to shed any tears, but the more I listen to the lyrics, well, we will see :p.

First of the Gang to Diemight just be one of Morrissey's best ever. Irish Blood, English Heart is also a great one, too. Other notables include America is Not The World, I Have Forgiven Jesus which deals with desire/temptation and the pity feeling I imagine, that one would get from being yelled at by the fundamentalists.

In church sometimes, even the hierarchy seems to focus too much on Matthew 5:22 (But I say unto you, that whosoeer is angry with his brother wihout cause shall be in judgement: and whosoever say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire), and not enough on verses like John 15:9 (As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue in my love). I could give you many more quotes like that. Verses regarding homosexuality appear less than 7 times in both the Old and the New Testament, while verses regarding love, peace, and judging -- well, I think you get the idea.

The new Morrissey rocks, needless to say. Prom is on Friday, I pick up my tux and hopefully order my corsage tomorrow. Nothing below the surface to really go ramble about today. Ellen's boyfriend Michael is coming to my graduation -- he's a great guy, so it should be fun.

8 days :O)

Come on guys, the new template isn't THAT bad.

Went to Sarah's formal birthday party tonight, which was anything but formal, heh. I had a really great time, it was super fun.

Got to see not only Vince, but Mike Gillgan, Chris Talson, Matt Burns, Kevin Connor, and a few people I haven't met that were still very cool. Did everything from play this charades-like game where one of the clues was "undress" and we ended up shouting things such as "male porn star!"

Sat around on the screen porch for a good time talking about recent stuff with Chris, who's not only super funny, but a gentleman who looks good in a tux. Once everyone was in the back, it ended up being a round-the-table discussion on music. Things I had to answer:

My top 5 bands/artists

1) Smiths/Morrissey (they count as one)
2) David Bowie
3) Hepcat
4) Huey Lewis and the News
5) Ben Folds Five

other notable artists included Sondre Lerche, Mountain Goats, Beatles, Q and Not U, Alice in Chains, Beach Boys, Grand Funk Railroad.

My biggest guilty pleasure: Sugar Ray, which was clearly topped by Matt Burns' love for the Spice Girls.

My first album was Will Smiths' "Big Willie Style" which got mad props and several "high-fives."

And the marble/chocolate cake was delicious, too. So good. But mostly a lot of good conversation and a chance to just lay back, and look at the cicadas hanging on for dear life while on the porch screen, in the rain.

Heather's (<3) concert was super cool last night. Rockin', even. Well, not literally. Went out to dinner with her and her friends afterwards, which was also cool.

Even later that night, I had this sort of beatitude, just lying exactly where I was. But time was against us. sigh.

As for myself, tomorrow will consist of getting that corsage ordered for prom, and studying for my criminal justice exam. crrrimmminalllll jusssstiicceee.

Graduation in about a month -- 18 school days left, then it's all over. I now officially have my pocket watch, reserved tux, and cane -- all I need is the top hat and monocle for a most spectacular entrance. And Heather wrote me a beautiful poem (she thinks it's third-grade esque ;) that I won't share with you, cause it's personal. So there.

Barnes and Noble and Pier 1 both said "we're not hiring right now," so I'm stuck at the library for the time being. sigh.

I'm not gonna bore you with details of my life, so I'll talk about something else. I was chatting with my buddy Mike, who found God again recently, and his life has literally been transformed. He's given up on most of the loser friends that he (and myself) used to hang out with frequently. He gave away a lot of his posessions, found a new job, and has been trying to perfect his meditation -- he's also been learning Reiki and just has a completely new outlook on life -- it's amazing.

Inspired me to actually try and do more stuff with my free time -- I'm blessed for usually around 3-4 hours per day, to have the house completely to myself. I'm going to try and start meditating again (I did for a while in freshman year, actually was making progress before I just lost interest) but I've been rather lax in my faith as of late. To meditate well is the key to unlocking EVERYTHING -- nothing is impossible, and to learn the power of psi (even not), or just to have the ability to find answers to your questions, or be able to gather energy, or relax.

"May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else."
1 Thessalonians 3:12

EDIT Thursday, 8 PM

I have heard the new Morrissey single Irish Blood, English Heart -- and it is good. here are the lyrics:

Irish blood, English heart
This I'm made of
There is no one on earth I'm afraid of
And no regime can buy or sell me

I've been dreaming of a time when
to be English is not to be baneful
to be standing by the flag, not feeling shameful
racist or racial

Irish blood, English heart
this I'm made of
There is no one on earth I'm afraid of
And I will die with both of my hands untied

I've been dreaming of a time when
the English are sick to death
of Labour, and Tories
and spit upon the name Oliver Cromwell
and denounce this royal line that still salute him
and will salute him

Come over to kev's house if you want to listen to it.

Paul speaks:

I Corinthians 13:1-13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful;

it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect;

but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away.

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood.

So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

How's everyone doing? I've been working on making thumbnails of a bunch of images, so a photo page is closer to reality. You might even see sexy pictures like this:
