We Shall All Be Healed

Tonight I was doing a good job at work --- then I backed into some sort of wooden ledge low to the ground. It pretty much ruined my night, as there's a low droning sound in my car now, and a rattling sound when I'm decelerating or just gliding at around 30 mph and above.

I think it's a dislodged tailpipe or muffler. Something with my car's hardware, so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm hoping under $50 when I get it checked out tomorrow.

I had an amazing time at the Slackers/Pietasters show. Slackers have gotten even better since the last time I saw them at Ottobar --- played a great mix of older and newer songs in their 1 hour set. The Pietasters were also fantastic, and I had a great time dancin around. Me and Brent did the "gone fishin'" skank, where he casts an invisible line, and I get "hooked" as he reels me in. Haha. Ska music, you make life worth living.

My post-Christmas life has been mostly working. Working and sleeping and occasionally hanging out with friends, i.e taking a walk or drinking coffee.

I talked to a Buffalo friend of mine -- Brittany. She has an apartment, two bedroom, that she wants to get rid of over the summer. I'd love to finish out her lease with someone else, but now I'm not even sure if James wants to be here next year --- which might mean me having to find someone else to live with.

Still, $725 a month split between two (or even three, according to britt, could fit in this apartment) isn't too bad, especially with a decent job.

I've had more, albeit small difficulties with women in my life, but for the time being, I've been kind of forced into this strange, euphoric sense of apathy in regards to that.

Which leaves me quite content! The nice 50-something degree MD weather helps too.

if you get there before me,
would you light us a fire?
and if i never show...
would you watch the embers glow?
would you keep the fire burning?

I'm Kevin. I attend Buffalo State College in The Empire State. I am a Social Work major, and therefore love all kinds of people. I hide my emotions, play cards for money, and believe in God.

Music-wise, I listen to The Mountain Goats, John Vanderslice, Animal Collective, John Mayer, Mars Volta, Modern Skirts, Matt Pond PA, The Smiths, The Prayers & Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers, Sufjan Stevens, Head Automatica, Why?, Coheed and Cambria, and other stuff.

I enjoy reading The Bible, Dan Brown, CS Lewis, John Steinbeck (favorite author), Dean Koontz, Henry David Thoreau, Stephen King, and Eugene Peterson.

I'm an avid poet (not so much anymore) and reader of poetry. My favorite poets are Stanley Kunitz, Alan Ginsberg, Tuli Kupferberg, Bret Hubinger (AACC Professor!), Walt Whitman, and Edward Thomas.
